Had some minor issues with the TREEpod PD charging at 9V and contacted the pdfriender support. Got an immediate detailed and well structured answer with a lot of valuable information.
The issue was found immediately, which was on my end and not an issue with the product.
Would highly recommend if you are in need of a wired AA solution. Quality of the PCB looks well made and the 3D-printed case is a perfect compact fit.
This unit does exactly what it sets out to do, split the data and PD on USB-C for a much better car experience! Having Android Auto not drain / barely charge my battery on a long trip whilst getting Super Fast Charging on my Samsung phone is amazing!
Apple Car Play connects less reliably than it used to but it’s a worthwhile trade off for the faster charging speeds.
This is advertised for quick charging while using carplay, but if your car has a USB port that doesn't power off and you are using a wireless Carplay/AA adapter with the car like an Ioniq 5 (and maybe the EV6, GV60, etc.?) this is an invaluable little device. It lets you take the power from the cigarette lighter and the data from the USB port and stops your wireless adapter trying to connect to your phone even when your car is off. It's also a nice, compact, discrete design. There are some power blockers you can get on Amazon, but they're ugly (like Bezos), and you can do some surgery to a USB Y cable to achieve the same outcome, but this is just so easy and nice. 5 stars, worth every penny.
I received my Treepod quickly and as described despite it coming from overseas. I have a iPhone 16 pro and PDFriender came up with a solution to get the best possible charging solution for my device using a lightning cable and adapter. I would like to see a solution in the future which does not require this and the mess of wires it creates. I would also like to get the max 45w as this solution is limited to 30w understanding the real world results would be minimal.
I've been using it with my dongle DAC because my DAC sucks out too much battery from my phone. The treepod solves that problem!
Finally my iPhone charges properly while connected to carplay.
Works perfectly and helps keep my phone charged. Also serves as strain relief for my usb port! Quite nice.
Received my treepod today and installed the unit in my Alfa Romeo Giulia. After following the instructions on the website, the unit is working flawlessly and is fast charging my phone while also outputting Carplay!

I got to say, this thing is actually amazing. There's nothing out there like it. If it's not working for you, they will work with you until it does. For me I have the issue where I had to spend the wire around, but not only that I also have to get a higher wattage car charger. Once I got that and stronger wires, I had super fast charging.
A definite buy if you have one of the larger smartphones.
It delivers what it promised, data + pd power from another source in a small package.
